Developed to protect and extend
the life of marine fabrics including vinyl,
polyester, canvas, and Sunbrella®. Contains UV
and mildew resistant agents. Helps prevent damage
from moisture, mildew, oil and grease stains, and
other airborne pollutants.
Heller Glänz Waterproofer is
revolutionary because it combines waterproofing and
protection and is longer lasting than other leading
Boat Polish brands in the market place. It’s
unique Boat Polish formulation allows it to
penetrate the fabric further, therefore
waterproofing from below the surface, which leaves
the textured finish of the original fabric
intact.

Heller Glänz Boat
Polish and Stain Repellent was developed to protect
and extend the life of marine fabrics including
acrylics, Sunbrella, nylon, cotton, canvas,
polyester, vinyl, and leather. Helps prevent damage
from moisture, mildew, oil and grease stains, bird
droppings and airborne pollutants. Perfect for boat
& sail covers, dodgers, boat shoes, bimini
tops, vinyl seats & cushions, carpets, tents,
awnings, patio furniture.
Most mills, including
Sunbrella, apply a fluorocarbon polymer to the
cloth at the factory for waterproofing and stain
repellency. This is the most durable and effective
waterproofing technology currently known. (A
polymer is like Teflon for cloth.)
Heller Glänz’s
Boat Polish uses virtually the same fluorocarbon
technology as the mills do and is U.V. Resistent
and Mildew Resistent.
-
WHY USE Heller Glänz
Boat Polish?
Heller Glänz’s Boat Polish uses
virtually the same fluorocarbon technology as
the mills do to replenish the polymer lost from
the cloth due to age, weather and cleaning.
Sunbrella, for example, recommends replenishing
waterproofing after each cleaning with a
polymer-waterproofing agent. Application is
therefore more effective, more durable, and
easier to use than using a less compatible
agent.
Heller Glänz’s Boat Polish has been
laboratory tested against the five leading
products in the industry and has been found to
be superior.
-
WHY NOT USE A SILICONE
BASED WATERPROOFING PRODUCT?
While cheaper to make, silicone-based products
actually attract dirt and dust which
“sticks” to the cloth. Not only
does the cloth get dirty, but the dirt also
provides the medium on which mildew grows.
Polymer based products do not have this
problem.
-
WHY NOT USE A WATER BASED
PRODUCT?
Water based products too are less expense than
solvent based products at first glance.
However, because some waterproofing is still
left in the fabric even after a thorough
cleaning, getting effective coverage using a
water-based product is almost impossible
because the existing waterproofing rejects the
new application.
-
BESIDES MARINE CANVAS
MATERIALS LIKE SUNBRELLA, WHAT CAN Boat Polish
BE USED ON?
Boat Polish can be used on virtually any
material found on a boat, including vinyl,
leather, carpeting and cloth cushions.
-
HOW MUCH AREA WILL ONE
BOTTLE OF Boat Polish COVER?
In most cases, a 32oz. bottle will cover
approximately 175 square feet. This can vary
according to the absorbency of the material is
being treated and how heavy the application
is.
-
HOW FREQUENTLY SHOULD MY
MARINE CANVAS BE WATERPROOFED?
Waterproofing should be applied at least every
time the canvas is cleaned, since even the
lightest detergent will remove much of the
repellency of any waterproofing agent. Boat
Polish will last a year in the harshest of
weather conditions, however, under most
conditions, it will last several
seasons.
-
ARE 2 TREATMENTS MORE
EFFECTIVE THAN ONE? WILL SATURATING THE
MATERIAL PROVIDE MORE PROTECTION?
Although one treatment should be sufficient, a
second application or higher saturation will
provide more waterproofing to the
fabric’s threads. For smaller fabric, we
also often apply Boat Polish by dipping the
fabric and then allowing it to
“drip-dry” over an open container.
The Boat Polish that has dripped off the fabric
is then reusable.
The Boat Polish product
itself is also remarkably quick and easy to use.
All that is required to waterproof and protect any
previously untreated surface are two simple
spray-on applications.
Heller Glänz Boat
Polish Protector is fully compatible with other
fabric protectors, so previous use with other
waterproofing agents will not affect the
product’s
performance.
easy to use, trigger-spray Waterproofer
and Protector, which can be used not only on tent
and awning canvas, but also on a wide variety of
other surfaces, including cloth, upholstery, nylon
and carpets.
Heller Glänz
Waterproofer also has a much wider use than just
tents and awnings and can be used effectively on
camping furniture, equipment and fabrics,
especially caravan upholstery, since it protects
against general spills like tea, coffee, coloured
soft drinks and red wine etc. which can be
notoriously difficult to remove.
Tests to date have shown
that Heller Glänz spray-on Waterproofer has
been more effective and greater in durability than
other current leading brands. During initial
trials, samples were sent to different
manufacturers, retailers and a number of
independent testing adjudicators. Without
exception, everyone was impressed by the product's
performance. One test in particular was staggering
to view. A piece of ordinary kitchen paper towel
was treated and then left to float in a bath of
water. The paper towel had still not absorbed a
single drop of water after 5 Days.
DIRECTIONS
1) Clean fabric first. Rinse thoroughly and allow
to dry. Boat Polish is most effective on clean, dry
material.
2) Shake well.
3) Spray, dip, brush or roll on evenly until fabric
has a "wet" look - material does not need to be
saturated.
4) Allow to dry for 6 - 12 hours for maximum
effectiveness.
5) Use Boat Polish seasonally or after each
cleaning.
